February 2015 attracted 55,330 stay-over visitors to Barbadian shores. This translates to a 14.9% increase in arrivals when compared to February 2014 which recorded 48,143. The driver of this growth, with regard to country of residence, was Canada. This visitor market grew by 34.2% from 7,942 tourist arrivals in February 2014 to 10,657 in the current period. Significant growth in arrivals was also recorded among residents of Trinidad and Tobago (26.7%), U.S.A (23.3%) and Other Countries (23.8%). Over the review period, reduced arrivals were observed only among Other
Europe. Arrivals from this region fell by 25.1% to 3,240 visitors in February 2015 compared to 4,323 in February of the previous year.
Cruise calls also fell in February 2015 by 3.4% in comparison to the same month in 2014. Correspondingly, total cruise passenger arrivals declined by 12.3% to 68,281 passengers. However, total landed passengers recorded a 7.5% increase to 24,518 in February 2015 compared to February 2014 which recorded 22,811 landed cruise passengers.
