Taxi to Dock	SeaDream I
We departed the Wyndham at 1:15 p.m. and caught an island taxi to the Crown Marina, which is just west of town. The taxi tariffs are set by the government, and is $9 per person from the Wyndham to the dock. I found out later that we paid alot more that we should have from the airport-- the fare should have been $15 each, we paid $30 each (although we got our own van).

Arrival	At Pier
After we passed through gated security at the beginning of the dock (they checked passport -id- and boat ticket) we were dropped off right in front of the Seadream 1. On the other side of the concrete dock was the Seaborne Legend. Before boarding, we gave our passports (which they keep until the end of the cruise) and a credit card (for onboard purchases) and proceeded aboard the gangplank.

Greeting	Cabin
We were greeted by a chilled glass of champagne and an escort to our cabin. After getting our room keys, we went back up to the lounge for some snacks while they put aboard our luggage.

Ship Tour	Stern Pool Area
After a snack and some champagne, we roamed the ship from top to bottom. Even though the ship is rather old (1985) the upkeep is immaculate. Moving towards the top of the ship, I immediately found my favorite spot-- the top bar and sun tanning area.

Top Deck Bar	Ship Profile
The Top Deck Bar has a full compliment of liquors and Cuban cigars. Aft are the large sunbathing beds. There is alot of cover where needed to protect against the strong midday Sun.

Internet and Visitors	Top of the Yacht Bar
I went up to reception to fill out a guest registration form for my pilot friend Chris. He is in St. Martin the Captain of a GV business jet from Basel, Switzerland. He really wanted to visit the ship, and I wanted a peek at a $50 million dollar jet. For visitors, you need to fill out a short form at reception which is approved by the staff Captain. While I was there, I picked up a Cat 5 ethernet cable and started my $35/day room internet service (via satellite).

Lifeboat Drill	Pool Deck
The mandatory lifeboat drill was at 5:30 p.m. at port.

Cocktails in the Lounge	Outdoor Dining
At 6:30 p.m. cocktails were served in the main lounge where the staff was introduced and the next days activities were presented.

Easter Dinner Buffet Topside	Easter Buffet
The outside weather was perfect for dining, and a Easter buffet was setup. The tables were elegantly appointed and the lights were dimmed for dining.

Prime Rib and Lamb Buffet	Buffet
Out of the 15 cruises, this was the best dinner I've ever had. I can say enough about the quality of the meat and other dinner delicacies. The prime rib was hands down the best meat I've ever tasted-- done to perfection.

Dessert Swans	Buffet
For dessert some of the pastries were made into swans. The perfect ending to a perfect dinner.

After Dinner Drinks at Topside Bar	Swan
Following dinner, we had some drinks and a nice Cuban cigar at the Topside bar. All in all, one of the best first days on a cruise I've experienced. The crew is professional, courteous, and really do their best to server the passengers.

Ship Details	After Dinner Drinks and Cigar
On this cruise there were 87 passengers and 91 crew. There was a mix from a few families to mostly middle-aged and older couples.

Turndown Service	Robes
Monogrammed pajama shirts were laying on the bed when we arrived back to the cabin for turndown service-- something I have never seen and a very nice personal touch. I highly recommend that the name be double checked for spelling (Jane got turned into James which brought a few moments of laughter).

Beds

The bed mattress on this ship, and every other ship I've been on is not very comfortable. Somebody should get a clue and buy a ship mattress (or make one) from a brand-name manufacturer like Sealy. Skip the feather pillows and duvets and just have something comfortable instead of something that sounds ritzy.
