Raiatea - Motu - Dinner Under the Stars Wednesday, January 19, 2005

We motored and anchored in the bay to the outlet of Faroe river, in Raiatea for breakfast. A kayak tour was offered, but since I had been there before on a tour with the Radisson Paul Gauguin, I opted for a spa massage and relaxing morning aboard ship.

Short Cruise to Motu

Motu Afternoon

|
During lunch, we picked up anchor and motored a few miles out to another motu, where we dropped anchor. The remnants of a catamaran could be seen on the coral heads warning all that caution needs to be exercised when navigating these waters.

During the afternoon activities, and while we stopped back at the ship in late afternoon, the crew set up the motu into a luxurious out island dining experience. Tiki torches and coconut fires were lit to give the motu an incredible ambiance. A full bar with champagne was set up along with two dining tables. Polynesian music played in the background.

Tabu on the Motu
|
|
A screen was set up between two palm trees and the silent black-and-white movie, "Tabu" was shown under the starts, complete with popcorn and drinks. By this time of the evening there were only two passengers watching the movie. The level of service and attention to details really made this cruise, and this evening a night to remember.
